We're going to see Van Halen!!!
The comeback tour - the return...the back together...the David Lee Roth show...the where-the-fuck-is-Michael-Anthony tour...whatever you want to call it we are going and I am PSYCHED!!!
They've added a ton of shows for this concert, and while the Boston ones sold out wicked fast we're heading out to Worcester (pronounced Wuh-stah for you non-New Englanders...) to see them rock the house. Yes, Anthony is not with them. Yes, there's a teenager playing in his place. Do I care? When the tour was announced the Man and I were like - SIGN US UP! Then the news came that Wolfgang was playing Anthony's part...and we hemmed and hawed a little bit. Yes, Roth is back, but is it vintage Van Halen with a middle schooler?
However, as we watched the Boston shows sell out, and starting reading reviews of the first few shows we figured we couldn't miss out. The line up of songs is pure what the fans want to hear. People who have seen the show are still exhausted from singing their lungs out. Everyone in attendance has been sporting Van Halen shirts either fresh from the concession booth, or pulled out from the back of the closet where it was balled up over twenty years ago.
So, until roughly 1pm today I will be a good office worker with sensible attire.
By the time we hit Wuh-stah tonight I will be big-haired, eye-lined and ready to pump my fist in the air.
ROCK ON BABY!!

Riiiiiight. Because New Englanders don't pronounce anything, um, normally?
I actually got yelled at while in Boston when a friend of mine pronouced it incorrectly (as if he would have known how to pronounce it!). The girl literally stopped the conversation cold and YELLED at us all for being "uninformed."
She was not so nice. Next time, I will just come to you for any pronounciation issues I have while visiting the more northern east coast! :)
